ØJudging will begin at 12:00Noon on Sept.19th 2009.
Please have all show vehicles detailed and ready to be judged by that time.
Late entries will not be permitted.
ØDisplays are permitted, although all display materials must be anchored safely. Failure to comply with this may disqualify your entry, and you may be asked to remove items that fly around.
ØVehicle Identification cards must be clearly displayed on all show vehicles in the dash area /front windshield. Vehicles without entry cards will not be judged!
ØJudging will be based upon the INTERNATIONAL CAR SHOW ASSOCIATON (I.C.S.A.) judging standards. Please see the judging sheets for further information.
All entries will be judged with attention to detail, cleanliness, and overall appearance.
Entries will be judged as fairly and impartially as possible.
ØCar show awards will include 1st & 2nd place trophies for each “Best Of” class, & one each for all other classes.
ALL cars registered for the show are eligible for the “Best of Show” trophy. The winner of “Best in Show” is not eligible for other class awards.
ØNo vehicles will be moved once they are parked on the show lot, unless a staff member asks specifically for a vehicle to be moved. This is for safety reasons with the crowds/children present at the show.
ØNo vehicle will be judged if their sound system exceeds acceptable noise levels. These noise levels may be determined by the CITY of Ankeny Police ordinances for sound levels in a public park.
ØAudio and visual systems may be utilized at low levels throughout the day, or to demonstrate to judges for a limited time during which the vehicle is being evaluated.
ØJudges must have access to all areas of the vehicle, including trunk, interior, or engine compartment if the participant wishes to be judged for that area. Judges are not touch or open any areas of the vehicle to complete their judging duties, so please have all areas accessible to the judges during that time.
ØIt is suggested that you be available to the judges during the time that your vehicle is being evaluated. They may have questions for you, or may need your assistance with your vehicle. However, it is Not required that you talk to the judges unless he/she requests it.
ØAll vehicles must remain in the show area during the event hours of 12:00-6:00pm.
WINNERS MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN AWARDS!
If you leave early from the event, you will forfeit your show position and your entry fee, and will not receive the award for your class.
ØThe decision of the judges is final. Revisions will not be made to judging sheets. Tie-breakers will be decided by the head judge after a short re-evaluation of details.
ØJudging staff will be available after the awards ceremony to answer any questions about their specific judging sheet or the reasons for the points given, (in order to promote further understanding of these areas needing improvement).

Due to this being the first year with multiple classes we have chosen to do three class types till we get a better idea of what types of cars will show, look for a revised set of classes next year.
Classic: Any Domestic Car or truck up until the 1972 model year.

• Paint must be even throughout the vehicle to include inside engine & door jambs, etc..
• Should not have scratches or dents that you can easily notice.
• Custom paint must match the entire vehicle inside & out, we will check! (Custom paint does not include any paint job that came from the factory!)
• Cleanliness overall – Must be clean from top to bottom for full points.
BODY & EXTERIOR MODIFICATIONS 1 to 10 Points_______________
• Body kits should be mounted correctly and match the vehicles factory look.
• Lights must work and be mounted safely to your vehicle & match the car’s scheme.
• Factory or custom grills should match the car and be mounted correctly.
• Dents or scratches should not be seen on entire car!
• Cleanliness overall.
ENGINE MODIFICATIONS 1 to 10 Points_______________
• Chrome must be clean, not discolored or chipped to include mounting brackets and screws.
• Everything must function properly, turbo, supercharger, & NOS for max points.
• Wiring must be clean & oil free – no dripping of any fluids what so ever.
• Upgrades to include headers, intake, exhaust, throttle body, any extra, etc..
• Cleanliness overall. Must have hood open in full view of the judges before they start!
SUSPENSION 1 to 10 Points_______________
• Undercarriage must be clean and free of oil & products must be bolted down.
• Chrome needs to be polished & maintained throughout the suspension.
• Bushings & Bearings must be clean under the car, also must function on road.
• Cleanliness overall!
WHEELS AND TIRES 1 to 10 Points_______________
• Wheels and tires must be clean, judges will check for dirt and grease.
• Lug nuts and rims should match the car style and should be mounted correctly.
• Should all match and have proper rubber (tread) for safe driving.
• Rims should generally follow the color scheme of your car & match your vehicle’s style!
• Cleanliness overall!
INTERIOR MODIFICATIONS 1 to 10 Points_______________
• All products should be mounted & secured to the vehicle.
• Carpet should be vacuumed inside, no fingerprints or stains on carpet or seats.
• Seat upgrades and dash kits are recommended, (carbon fiber, etc.)
• The color scheme of your car must match with the interior scheme for max points.
• Seat Covers are not recommended unless they are fit properly, and look correct.
• Cleanliness overall.
CAR AUDIO & SECURITY SYSTEM 1 to 10 Points_______________
• Installation must be clean, no wires showing inside of vehicle.
• Should have completed sound system.
• System must be able to play and function when judges ask.
• Alarm system must be installed and working for max points.
• Cleanliness overall.
AIR INTAKE / EXHAUST 1 to 10 Points_______________
• Your vehicle must have air intake and exhaust.
• Intake & exhaust must be mounted and installed correctly on car or truck.
• Should match color scheme of vehicle.
• Filters must be clean for max points (may be checked if a tie breaker).
TRUNK, HATCHBACK, CABIN, OR BED 1 to 10 Points_______________
• Must be open or unlocked before judges arrive to score this area.
• Free of bags, clothes, & personal belongings. Not a storage area.
• Panels or materials must be fitted properly, not missing, hanging, or loose. Should be a proper fit.
• Must be vacuumed & free of dust and dirt. (Judges may shake mats or inspect closely if a tie breaker)
• Cleanliness overall.
“EXTRA CREDIT POINTS” 1 to 10 Points_______________
• Has your car been featured in a magazine before? Show us!
• Should have a photo book of pictures for car or “Battleboard” showing features. Show detail and some work that was done.
• Some type of display can earn a point or two. Where is yours?
• Vehicle must stand out; do something different and special for extra points!!
• Cleanliness overall.
TOTAL SCORE (Out of 100) _______________
There is a possible score of 100 points including the Extra Credit! Remember our judges want to give you the points you deserve, so follow the guidelines above, and be available if the judge needs to ask questions.
All “Best Of” categories are judged in addition to the normal show class category of your choice. Please be sure to mark your registration form with which of these additional categories you would like your vehicle to be judged for.
